Uwe, I hear you mate but I'm totally skint at the
moment and have no other way of funding the extension.

I did think about going on the game but would propably only get a balloon and a Zorro mask in payment

Why? Wouldn't it be easier to keep the car and just move to a bigger house?

Exactly!

You will never get your money's worth out of an extension.  If it costs you 20k to build your house price will not go up by 20k.  House prices are just about to go back up if they haven't already so now is the time to move to a bigger place.

Think of all the dust, noise, mess and hassle you will have building an extension.

Sell the wife so you can fund the car and you will then have more space in your existing house therefore not need an extension, saving you cash and you will also then have more wardrobe space!

Everyone's a winner.

Done correctly to the right house, in context with the area, home improvements DO return value on your property price.

But not to the extent that laying out £10K on a good Sport Evo in 2004 would have.  300% return plus 5 years of enjoyment.  These are example figures - I don't know Gary's and wouldn't post if I did, but I "sold" my cecotto for £7500 in 2004 and what a tit I feel now.

You know my view, Gary, get it sold while it's at the top of the market - buy a Ferrari and scale down the extension.

Sell.  Once you've decided to do it, it'll niggle away at you.  Making the decision is the most difficult bit.

I agree.  I used to get the itch for a change then throw money at modifications, still ended up selling in the end and never got anywhere near the money back I'd spent on new wheels, lowering kits etc.  Once you've grown disenchanted with a car and catch yourself thinking about changing it's time to move on.

On a related note, I was at the MPH show on Saturday and had a sit in a Ferrari Mondial T.... 3.4 litres of V8 loveliness.... £19,995....

True though that is, you still can't drive your extension but you can sleep in your car...

Gary you're a tit for selling it, but you've been threatning it for a while, but at least the last time it was for a Ferrari!!

I jest of course. I'd part company with vital organs to own one.
I don't envy you having to make that decision mate.
