Induction kit and exhaust with sport/race cats (ideally decat). Will increase throttle response and power a wee bit. But being naturally aspirated huge power gains are tough to come by. I wouldn't mess with it too much, the 3 litre is a lovelly engine. |

What Daz says plus a remap, should put a smile on your face, a remap should be around the £400 mark, it's more for ironing out the flat spots to give a smoother power curve, I certainly noticed a difference when I had the 323 done

If its an auto make sure that the autobox can cope with any increase in flywheel (input) torque otherwise you may end up with an expensive bill.

It's not the flywheel that is the problem. What I really meant was that if you have an increase in torque from chipping an engine you can overload the automatic gearbox if the engine produces too much torque for the designed input torque (measured at the flywheel as opposed to wheel bhp) of the autobox. My autobox is rated at 600 Nm input torque which is fine as my standard engine only produces 450 Nm of torque. This is why I know the rolling road day on 15th March was a bit of a dud as according to Hypertechs rollers, my car is producing 610 Nm of torque at the flywheel, which would blow the gearbox! |

I really wouldn't worry too much about the toruque input as tolerances etc will be able to accept any additional load that that could occur, they will have a certain safety margain. That said, a remap won't really increase tourque that much, certainly not low end torque, which could cause any potential damage, it's more for smoothing out the power curve by eliminating any flat spots throughout said power curve, giving more pull once on the move. It's also been known to improve MPG, but IMO that's all down to the driver Edited by ally |
