As you may have noticed from Davy's thread about his car, I detailed it over the weekend, so here's a few(sorry...) pictures from the 42+hrsI spent on it.

Started off on the Friday night when the car arrived....








Not too bad, so  started by foaming the car and a two bucket wash.








Engine bay was up next and it came up not bad.



Looked ok after washing...



The car was then moved inside for de-tarring and claying. Didn't get any photo's of this but the roof and the boot lid were the worst and the rest of the car being average. Now the full extent of the damage could be seen....





I was in for a long weekend.

So with the boot as a test patch, I started, and It came up not bad.


So here's a few photos, with some before and after shots...

So after all that polishing, it was taken outside for another wash down....



Looking better...









A last minute decision to re-jet wash the engine as the polishing dust had covered it...


An finally the Results...










Sorry about some blurry photos, next on the list is a better camera and better lighting, but thanks for looking hope you're not sleeping by now!!

i thought the paint was bad, but not this bad.
the car came up a treat.
paul has transformed the car, just check the dirty big grin on my ugly mush in the last pic. thats not how my face usually rests. (cheers cambell)
his dedication and passion for this is second to none.

Black Betty, I have driven the 2010 Mustang Coupe and Convertible, loved them, prefered the coupe, but that's just me.

Oh now that you've worked on the carbon black what do you thnk of it?

I had a love hate with it.  Hated it looking blue, but other times it looks black??

I liked the red leather as it hid the blue/black look of the paint.  but black leather makes it so obvious.

With hind sight I prefered my old 325Ci Sport with Saphire black, it was old fashioned black.  No mistaking it.

Megs mild and Last touch as lube
3M FCP and UF
3M yellow cutting pads
3M blue finishing pads
Gloss it fast cut spot pad- Very good
3M yellow spot pad
Blackfire Wed Diamond All Finish Paint Protection
Blackfire Midnight sun
AS highstyle
NXT glass cleaner
PB Wheel sealent
PB New Look Trim Gel
Aero Space 303
Race glaze leather cleaner and Balm
NXT Metal polish

Do you find that 3m stuff is best on the BM paint? Seems to have done the trick anyway

Yeah it's quite good, a bit dusty but nowt you can't live with. Fancy trying something new, like some of the Gloss It stuff.

Paul, i'm not one for this 'detailing' lark but anyway, your jet washing the engine. Last time I did it gingerly to my last E36 M3 it ran on 5cylinders for about two weeks.

My door checks and round the inside of the boot of my current E36 M3 are mint but i'll not be going near the engine bay. Too many electrics for my liking. (You bein apprentice spark should know water and electrics dont mix ) Is this the norm for the 'detailing' dudes? Is there not other ways to do this??

Oh, great job by the way. Car looks the bol@x.

Geeze, where have you been hiding!? Long time no see

Nope this is the norm, you must have been going too close with your jet wash, and too near to the coil packs. you have to use a low- to medium pressure, or keep the lance a fair bit away, and avoid the major electrics. Also wrap the major electrics with tinfoil. Davy's wasn't that bad, I just kept away from the major stuff, then start the car for 10mins to let it dry off. Job done.

Hi Paul, cheers for the reply. My engine bay is seriously manky so I just don't look under there hee hee.

Havn't been around as I didn't have a BM to run about in. The E30 M3 is in getting a full respray and is currently lying in a million bits in primer. Might put it up for sale when I get it back though if someone wants to give me lots of pennies for it.

Treated myself to an E36 M3 smg to dodge around in (now everyone and their granny has bought one) but probably wont be out in the E30 this side of new year with weather.
