Hi i need to renew front discs & pads, are there good or bad makes to buy? Are there any makes to avoid? as there are loads on ebay but i don't want to pay good money for rubbish!!

Not sure I'd trust my brakes to an ebay purchase. Try GSF or Eurocarparts and go for orig equip or some of the other well known stuff. Textar,Ate,etc. |

Thank you, seen some on eurocarparts that look reasonable. Do you know if i need to replace pad sensors as well or can they be swapped with old ones or do new pads come with them as i've never done pads with sensors before. thanks again. |

I bought from ebay for my e39 5301 sport touring they were brembo discs and mintex pads been on for 12 months now no probs except a bit of squeal when they get hot ..a manchester based seller did them for £112 (but remember they are the 234mm discs not the 196 mm's)
pad wear sensors clip into the calipers one n/s front one o/s rear not a difficult job |

See my second post in your other thread on what ones to buy and fitting tips. I would only buy new pads and discs in a sealed box. Don't be tempted to buy stuff off ebay that isn't in its original sealed box. You don't want to be taking risks with brakes. Andrew |
