Recommendations.

This is meant to be a list of services (motoring related), created by forum members, for the benefit of your fellow forum members.

There is one in every section, so please try and post in the relevant one.

As long as you have more than 100 forum posts, we don't mind if you or a relative own the business (if you have less than 100 posts, but consider your business should be included, contact one of the moderating team).

If discounts are available then great, but don't worry too much, its the good service/products we all want.

There must be absolutely  NO negative posts, as one bad experience does not necessarily mean a bad business

If you have a complaint, contact me (Nigel) directly, faliure to observe this particular point will lead to the immediate suspension of your forum account, (because we're worried about libel issues), so please, if you have an issue, just contact me.

Best Wishes

Nigel

my local garage today & they found the fan wasn't cutting in when it should have been

So called Toby at "BM Mini Parts " to see if he had one / knew where i could get one as i had called the "Dealers "previously & was told £277.00 !!!! (unfitted !!! )

Toby bent over back wards to find what i needed as i couldn't give him a part number or anything  He called me back to say he had called around to find out if the one he had would fit my car & discovered it could

He then talked me through the buying process on his web site ( you know me & computers !!!  )

Picked it up at his warehouse & will be hopefully fitted tomorrow ready for going to Moffat

So "BIG THANKS"  to Toby for sorting me out & I'm sure if any of you guys haven't used Toby for your parts ....... i recommend he be your first call

I’ve used this guy since about 2004 and he’s always been fair.

Anyway Craig from C&G Garage will sort you out, if you tell him Jack with the BMW 735 recommended him you wont get a discount but his laugh will cheer you up!

The garage is quite handy for getting buses (Nos 7, 11, 14) into Edinburgh city centre.

Oooh, The machine of a dream, such a clean machine With the pistons a pumpin', and the alloys all gleam, When I'm holding your wheel, All I hear is your gear, With my hand on your grease gun, Mmm it's like a disease son, I'm in love with my car, gotta feel for my automobile, Get a grip on my .......

BM Miniparts get a massive thumbs up from my son and myself.

I've ordered parts for my 8 and my eldest sons 3 which have been both easy to buy and quick to arrive.......add to that the MASSIVE saving over dealer prices and you know it makes sense to buy from BM MINIPARTS

Cheers, Alex

Bought new gear knob from Toby bmminiparts.com.

Great service Toby, thanks for all your help, wasn't sure about changing from chrome trim to all leather, but it looks good on the car, so, very happy with it.

Thanks again.

Just bought new brake pads and discs for my B10 from Brake Parts Superstore (http://www.brakepartssuperstore.org.uk/).

A pair of E39 front 540i discs and pads, and a set of rear 528i pads came to a total of £166.10 including £7.95 carriage by UPS (with tracking number) to the north of Scotland (a pleasant surprise since this location is notorious for getting ripped off by extra carriage charges levied by companies despite being on the mainland), free Mintex brake lube, a free Gunsons Eazy-Bleed one-man brake/clutch bleeding kit and a free vernier guage, which is far cheaper than either Euro Car Parts or GSF Car Parts, even without the freebies.

I placed the order online on Wednesday evening (5th August) and the parts arrived today as promised (Monday 10th August), with email and text message updates sent to me throughout the process.

Excellent service, I'll definately be using them again.

In my case the front discs supplied were made by SBS (http://www.sbs.dk/index.dsp?area=84), the front pads by Apec (http://www.apec-braking.co.uk/), and the rear pads by Roulands (http://www.roulunds-braking.dk/), but according to their site they can also supply BremTech, Lockheed, Brembo, Ferodo, SA and Mintex.

Demon Tweeks (http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/).

Bought a CG-Lock (http://www.cg-lock.co.uk/) from their eBay shop ( http://stores.shop.ebay.co.uk/demon-tweeks-performance__W0QQ _armrsZ1) for £39.95 including free delivery, which was a significant saving from everywhere else I'd seen them, including the manufacturers own site.

have had a few dealings with this company through fleebay....highly recommend using them, their service was excellent and very very helpfull.
The last thing i bought was a door hinge for my fuel door, it was missing the metal spring, so, when i told them, they sent me another hinge, with the spring and door still attatched......now thats service....
