Here's how it'll work.  The money will never get paid to the leasing company, but will go to the directors who will "legitimately" give you the V5.

When the administrators arrive they will look at it and *may* say that the directors stole the cars (belonged to the company not the directors) and sold them, therefore the cars still belong to the leasing company.  At best you'll be involved in a year's worth of legal wrangling.  I know of at least one such case where the company just reported the car as stolen and the Police took the address from the new V5 and went and collected it.

If you can afford to gamble 18K on whether or not you'll get to keep an E92 M3, go for it, but it wouldn't be me.

If it looks too good tobe true, it ususally is.

When i'm as old (long time) and wise as that man that's how it'd put it. Scam written all over it

As for the question E92 M3 are still dropping like a stone and will continue to do so. E46 CS/CSL would be my choice with that sort of cash. Bid hard though

I hope I'm proved wrong but to me the E92 M3's @ 16k-18k seems too
good to be true. In my view that means avoid it as it is too good to be
true.

Good Luck to all

The E92 is faster thats for sure, both fantastic cars though,.

Ive also owned 4 e46 M3's and a CSL currently got an E60 M5, the M5 is the absolute daddy no question about it, MENTAL acceleration.

Yeah - I know it prob depends on what you like... just wondered what the general 'opinion' was... I've not heard much about the E92 model... but I know the E46 was loved by the motoring press...

Got another mate who's been offered a real cheap deal on a few E92's... A leasing company is going bust and the company was funded by a part of RBS and they are writing off the debt so he's selling 4 E92 M3's for 18k each... Seems ridiculously cheap given that the cheapest on Autotrader is around 37k...

They have about 24k miles and were early E92 models - about 15 months old.

He's HPI'd them and checked out the story of the company going bust and everything seems in order...

Wish I had a spare 18k lol! You could even sell them on for some profit at that price probably...

Seems too good to be true...

'Better' is a bit subjective - depends what your mate is after...

E92 is likely to be a lot more exclusive for a decent period of time. Still not seen all that many OTR.

As for which is the better drive then it'd be down to test drives.

If had that kind of money and was staying with reasonably modern kit then I'd be throwing the CSL, 135i, 335i, 335d and some Alpinas into the mix. Not forgetting some of the tuning options available especially for the 135i, 335i and 335d.

Hi,

Got a mate thinking on getting an M3... just wondering what's considered better - the E46 or the E92 model.

I assume they're quite different? The E92 is 4L V8?

Much difference in feel/delivery of power etc?
