Can anyone help please?
I have 1993 520, with an intermittent electrical problem.
Recently, the fuel gauge, temp. gauge, speedo & rev counter all stopped working, then, just as quickly they started again, but with the bottom row of warning lights flashing. If I switch the ignition on and off, then that seems to sort things out, until it does it again.

Please can anyone help with this, I know electrical problems can be a nightmare, but just having a clue where to look would help.

Thanks

I would try the fusible links first as they are probably the cheapest/easiest to do.   http://www.bmwe34.net/e34main/maintenance/electrical/fusible_link.htm covers it well, though on my '95 the links aren't where they say they are.

Sounds like it could be that the SI board batteries are about to die. They spawn all manner of weird problems.

The later E34 Models 90> Do not have SI Batteries.

I would try removing the dash and making sure that the connectors at the back are firmly seated.
