Coates,

I bought my kit May last year so I would email Ron and ask what he is charging right now.

You can email from his website

http://www.rongineer.com/

or directly to rjones@rongineer.com

I was also impressed with the results, I didn't think you could get that increase without the CF airbox as we were all led to believe it was the harmonics of the CF airbox which is what gives you the power increase and not the restriction the AFM creates. Clearly the hard evidence here shows this is not 100% true and the power increase is mainly due to the restriction removed (AFM delete) and the mapping used to accomodate for the increase in air entering the engine.

There has been some die hard doubters about this conversion in the past, but as I never mapped this particular car, and it wasn't done on my dyno, this proves that this conversion does work and it has also re-lit my beliefs about the subject.

Coates,

Its been in the garage since, I have been too busy!

Just today I got a new chip burned by Nigel at Bexley motors with a raised 8000 rpm limit. I had one before that was supposed to go in but it didn't work properly but all should be well now.

I will put the new chip in over the next few days. I have a new rotor arm and dizzy cap on order and may have Clive Atthowe clean the injectors. After that I'll have it mapped again and get Clive to set a 7800 limit using the unichip, it should go over 240, not that I'll probably notice that small increase.

It had a slight hesitation on part throttle that could be down to the rotor arm a it was conducting poorly.

Cleaning the injectors may be overkill,I decide on that once the new rotor and cap are on.

Thanks for asking.

There is more proof this conversion works, and works well! Clive converted a 1988 Porsche 944 2.7 which appears to have identical engine management as the E30 M3, very similar ECU's and AFM's. He carried out the exact same conversion as I did on Kevins car and with a remap it came out from 173.3bhp @ 5842rpm and 165.8 ftlbs @ 4400rpm (this is over standard as it was already chipped with a generic EPROM) to 188.3bhp @ 5822rpm and 182.8 ftlbs @ 4176rpm.

This car is around 163bhp standard! So the AFM once again is restrictive on the Porsche as well as the E30 M3.

I'd post up the graph, but its in a PDF and I can't seem to upload it. But it is an impressive gain nonetheless.
