the facelift had more prominent kidney grilles, and i think it had a better quality of plastics used in the interior, i'm sure there's more than that to it though

Different wings / repeaters, different nose cone panel / different grilles. Later grilles were wider and more convex, earlier thin / concave. Later repeaters are smaller / neater and no black plastic surround, wings are basically the same but have a smaller hole for the different style repeater. Better quality interior as stephen says, amongst other more minor things. I changed mine from pre to post facelift wings and nose cone, it freshens it right up IMO. Struggled to find any pics showing both clearly.... Pre facelift grilles / nose cone Post facelift grilles and wings / repeaters.

Wow, that has to be the most subtle facelift in the history of the car industry
No idea which mine is, IIRC it has the old-skool grille but also has a 3rd brake light. Interior quality is nowhere near the E31, but then it was a third of the price when new. Edited by Paul_540i |
