I've lost my cover, it must have been dislodged when I jump started the car last week.

It's the one in the engine bay thats on a plastic hinge, is there a part number on it?

turns out it is part #21 on my car, same as the V8 models and M5, such weird and wonderful ideas alpina have...

so is mine, i think they've (alpina) has used the v8 terminal cover because the intake manifold is a different shape

Mibbie it is lying on top of the wing, it might have got caught and held in place when you slammed the bonnet?  Could also be lying on the undertray?  Might be worth a wee look?

What shape is your intake manifold then?

what a lovely and clean engine bay you had!

can't see hide nor hare of it Andrew, i've ordered a #21 from the dealer, it was really expensive... �1.02 + VAT  hopefully it'll be the right bit

Yeah, yours is definitely different Stephen - I would imagine that #21 is correct.

Had you had a few beers before you took that first picture?

I like getting bits from the dealer than cost only a few pence of about a quid. Everyone assumes that it costs a fortune for bits from a main $tealer but not always.

I have had change out of a pound on several occasions when buying bits for my Beamers over the years.

i don't drink so unfortunately not  the phone (nokia n70) camera doesn't seem to have an autofocus feature
