Folks,

A wee bit of an early heads-up on this one. Please note the 1145hrs start time @ the Flotterstone Inn. Early start is because Issy has managed to arrange entry into the Inn's car park for the club ahead of anyone else - thanks!

The reason for the early warning is we're hoping to have a bit of a run at this meet. So let's get some planning done...

- Cambell has kindly agreed to have a wee think about possible routes so I'm sure he'll post up some thoughts in due course
- do we want an early run, timed to arrive at the Inn for 1145 hours?
- do we want a run starting from the Inn timed to leave after some food and banter?
- do we want both?

Thoughts please...

Cheers,

Duncan

My thoughts are:

To make the run a fun road

Make it fair so that everyone (as near as poss) has an equal distance to travel to and from home for all.

Start at the Inn after lunch, (say 2pm) head south and after a wee bit of country road action, end up at the Showcase at Coatbridge for a juice or whatever (easy routes home for all, M8 M80 etc)

The exact route hasn't been calculated, I'll probably take a wee run myself and work it out from there.

Hi,

I popped my 'meeting' cherry at the last meeting and I fully intend to pop my 'meeting and run' cherry this April ;)

Just one question though:

How long do typical runs last?

LOL!  and this is not the cue for any toilet humour ;)

I'd supect about an hour, I haven't done the route I have in mind yet but the plan is that most of us should cover roughly the same mileage to and from home.

Thats kind of the plan for the start in the East, finish in the West idea. Sorry if this doesn't suit people from North and South but Merlin I aint!!

I supose its no different to people meeting locally before going to a meet and travelling to and from it together except this time, it'll be part of the day !

I like the sound of Cambells idea of eat first, exercise later.

I can't commit to anything at the moment but I'll be attending if I possibly can

I guess you mean everyone who lives between Edinburgh and Glasgow?

I'll be there for this. Most probably in the 5 series as the M3 is moving slower than a constipated snail

Chas, you've got 3 wonderful cars there, get out and drive one of them. come down and show it off

btw we do try and cater for people from all areas of the country it's just infortunate that we've lost Alford from the calendar cause some of us had planned to travel up and stay overnight then attend the show the next day

I'd love to but the imminent arrival of Baby Chas #2 in April makes it somewhat unlikely.

BTW, I've got 4 wonderful cars, only 3 made it into TBMW

Yeah, I "should" be able to make it ... spending work in April, but its probably about 90% a go at the moment ...

Cool, will pop my Meet Cheery at Flotterson then ...

Can I pay club membership on that day too ???

I'll be there too, Eat and drive sounds good to me as long as there's time to banter before setting off!? Looking forward to it!!

Unfortunately, we do not collect monies for membership of the BMWCC    at meetings - checkout the Club Website for details on how to join and pay - easiest way is probably phone them?

<BoT> looking forward to the meet

I will be there bright n early to get a spot in the car park as it will fill up very quickly once its opened especially if its a nice day. The food is good here and the idea of eating first then having the run suits me just fine. There is plenty room inside its just the parking that could be a bit awkward. Hope to see a good turn out as usual. Really looking forward to it.

I have just been reminded that the meeting is the day after my brother-in-law's wedding, so I am afraid that I am not going to be able to make this one.

As long as there are no more births, deaths or marriages the day before the May meeting I will be there.

If I have managed to source a suitable replacement Beamer and provided the long haired general, her indoors who must be obeyed at all times lets me out, I would like to come.

I have a works bash on the Saturday so getting permission to leave on both days might be a bit iffy.

I would like to come and say a big thanks to you all for the messages of support you all gave during my slight mishap at one of our local dealers!

Andrew
