The BMW Club North East is attending an event at Thirlestane Castle near Lauder in the Scottish Borders. The date is Sunday 1st June 2008. This is a big car show with all types of car and motorcycles on show from clubs around the UK. There is an autojumble and other exhibitions throughout the day. I have been there for the last two years and it is a great day out. I have been allocated only 25 tickets and I need names, registration numbers and model name. It is a first come first served basis and I want cars particularly from the North East. I also would like to extend an invitation to our Scottish cousins if there is any interest. BMW's only. The itinerary will be: Leave Seaton Burn Total Station at 07-30am in the morning. Arrive Jedburgh Woollen Mills 08-30am for breakfast and to give out the tickets. Leave Jedburgh Woollen Mills at 09-30 for Thirlestane Castle. Anyone who attends from Scotland we will meet at Jedburgh. I must have all names by mid April at the latest. Thanks Terry

Hi Terry and all, I hope you have loads of fun at this event, I'd like to have attended but unfortunately it is on the same date as our show and shine event in Edinburgh. What about maybe all or some of us meeting up for a refreshment after the events? (just a thought) Cambell |

Let me think for a second.yup!!! I think a nice cold one will be the perfect end to the day, just need to sort a location that will have a suitable carpark. There's always Carfraemill which is just a wee bit north from Thirlestane and is on a major road for everyone getting to and from. unless you can come up with alternative suggestions. Plenty of time to sort something out but gota tell you, I'm looking forward to meeting peeps from another region. Cambell |

Hey, you guys still up for a pint on Sunday ? There's at least 3 cars planning a trip down to Lauder to meet up with you, probably more on the day after I have a chat at the event. What time do you recon you'll be clear of the show ground ? I propose we meet in the parking area opposite The Black Bull in Market Place (Main Street) Lauder from say 4pm onwards. |

Hi Cambell, Sunday could be possible. We will have about 19 cars confirmed at the show. I am taking my BMW there for the show but I am bringing back a Morgan for a friend of mine. Depending on the arrangements and the weather I can still meet with you guys at the pub. A few of the others have said they would like to meet up at the pub in Lauder aswell. I think the best idea is if I give you my mobile number and we can sort it out on Sunday and I can find out on the day who is interested because I am guessing that if the weather isn't favourable people will just want to just go back home. I will PM you with my number. Cheers Terry |

Thanks to everybody who made the effort to join us at Thirlestane Castle on Sunday. I hope everyone enjoyed the run out and the breakfast at Jedburgh Woollen Mill. 19 cars was a great effort much appreciated since the weather didn't really do its best. I know its a long drive but I did hear that the drive was suitably exciting for most of us. Once again thank you. Pictures will be put up on the www.bmwclubne.co.uk website. Terry |
