A five place drop due to traffic immediately in front of Bourdais with no-where to go, holding up Heidfeld seems a bit harsh tbh.

As Mark Blundel said, 'it was just a case of Heidfeld being in the wrong place at the wrong time' too bad I say, as he should have put a better lap time in earlier.

Heikki Kovalainen claimed a hugely fortunate maiden Formula 1 victory after Felipe Massa was denied a superb win when his Ferrari engine blew up with just three laps to go in the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Massa had looked set for one of the most impressive victories of his career and the lead of the world championship after surprsingly getting the better of the front-row starting McLarens.

After passing pole-sitter Lewis Hamilton in a breathtaking move around the outside of the first corner, the Brazilian steadily pulled away at the front and looked to have the race in the bag when Hamilton suffered a front-left puncture with 29 laps to go.

But as he powered down the main straight to start his 67th of 70 laps, his Ferrari V8 spectacularly let go and he agonisingly ground to a halt in front of the Ferrari pit wall.

It gifted Kovalainen the win, an incredibly lucky result considering the Finn had fallen off the front-running pace early on.

Timo Glock moved up to a career-high second place after a stunning drive for Toyota, ahead of Kimi Raikkonen in the other Ferrari.

Fernando Alonso came home fourth for Renault, with Hamilton recovering to fifth.

Nelson Piquet Jr was sixth, with Toyota’s Jarno Trulli eighth and BMW scoring a single point thanks to Robert Kubica.

Well..... bit disappointing really, Massa's Ferrari certainly had the McMerc of Hamilton honest, shame it let go in spectacular style.

Hamilton, being as hard on his tyres as he is, paid the blow out price and Massa paid the price on being hard on the engine early on in the first 2/3rds of the race IMO.
Great race for Glock and Toyota with good results for Flavio's Team also.
