Last Tuesday my wife was about to set off for work and started the car but she stalled it. She couldnt start it again so I went out and tried but no joy. Later on I called the RAC (not having tools at home) and they came out and said she had flooded it but he couldnt get the plugs out cos he didnt have the tools. Anyway I got myself the correct plug spanner and removed them, cleaned them and replaced them and still no joy. I did notice a plug lead was faulty so ordered new ones. Fitting new ones on Sunday I thought would sort it but nope!!! And when turning over it now sounds funny (perculiar not ha ha). I removed all the plugs to test for spark and thats ok but will be replacing them just incase tomorrow! Its definately getting fuel aswell. Any ideas please as Im at the end of my tether?? Thanks Chris |

I recognise that feeling Could be any one (or more than one) of a number of things, even though you are sure that the spark is OK and it is getting fuel. As you plan to, I would try new plugs first or thoroughly dry out the existing ones with plumbers blowtorch (or oven bake) . Other suggestions (in no particular order):

Well atleast I can cross 2 of the 16 suggestions off!!! Ive spoken to a guy this morning and he suggested something to do with water temp sensor. Ill give these plugs a whirl and then see! Cheers |

The coolant sensor can be tested with a multimeter, should show a reading of approx 2500 ohms with a cold engine, and approx 200 ohms when the engine is hot.
