Fair play for keeping this running, Ger. Tis getting harder & harder to get slots in Mondello.

Yes, I second that. Hopefully with all Ger's hard work we'll have a track day in November. Presumably with shorter evenings we'll have to start earlier than usual, maybe 12 noon or 1 at the very latest. If we can get a Saturday or Sunday in early November all the better.

Just in case you thought things had gone quiet about a track day

It is still being worked on. There have been some delays because of the time of year (people on holidays).

We hope to make an announcement later this month confirming if it is on or not.

Current scenario being looked at

Saturday, half day, early November, National track

Why not October? Mondello busy with motorsport events

Why not International Track? International track is only available week days

I will update as soon as I have further information. Thanks for your patience

Hey lads, just checking in from the Ring.

We got here in one piece but like our last trip, one of us had to break down (although this time it was just Kin with a flat battery) & I ran out of petrol.

Also, if anyone wants a recommendation for locknuts, all I can say is, DO NOT GET MCGARD.  Kin broke one of mine after we had just fitted a set of performance friction pads for my stoptechs, so now I have to drive back for 1200 miles on full race pads and get the F**KING thing drilled out of my hub.  The worst thing is they squal like Tom Araya at the start of Angel of Death (slayer fans know what I mean)

Drift day was great, pics & vids to follow.  Looking forward to tomorrow morning 7.30 start at the ring.  Was like meeting old friends here, a lot fo the group are from last year and there are a few new faces.

F**K kin is trying to beat me to the post

B&&tard

I loved my trip to Wales, and will be back next year with a bit of luck for a similar trip.

No more BMW days for me for a while yet , but I should be at the October VIP day so hope to see some of you there.

Mick, your trip sounds fantastic. Let us know how you get on with the driftday too ~ Hopefully you'll get better weather than the one I did last Nov! Pouring rain in an open Caterham with no mudgaurds... everytime I drifted around a right-hand bend I got a soaked down my right side!

RE Wales. Since I read TJ's report I wanted to do it myself. Sounded really
great. I was in Wales last week after collecting a car I bought in England. ('00
Ford Fiesta Zetec S). I missed the ferry so decided to drive around for a
while. Didn't go too far but drove to the track to have a look. Couldn't see it
as it's over a hill and the gate was closed. One thing that struck me was the
quality of the roads. Unbelievably good. Not a pot hole or patch in sight. It
would be a really good trip and I doubt it would be expensive.

The roads in North Wales are terrible and you'll get a ticket from Brunstrom. Oh yes. Don't visit and fill my little roads up!!

Seriously, if there's a track event at Anglesey that would be brilliant because it's really near me!! (and nothing ever happens in these 'ere parts, I feel like a loony hermit!!)

Mick, if you if you don't mind me asking, what do you do for a living? And do
you take on apprentices?

Sounds like a great trip. Will they be able to set up the suspension for the
'Ring? Maybe talk to others with a good set up done already. Enjoy the trip. I
look forward to photos and some video.

Alex

Its the driver training again..........and I absolutely can't wait for it.  I think I will enjoy it even more this year, knowing what to expect.

But while we were at it, we decided to make a big trip of it.  Boat tomorrow and staying in Milton Keynes on Thursday night.  I am dropping my car into Thorney Motorsport on Friday morning to have KW V3's installed plus a full Geo, and while this is being done, we thought it would be rude if we didn't take in a Driftacademy day at Silverstone

Friday night in London then travelling to Ring on Saturday.

Lots of time for me to test out the mpg on my car.

Ferry return will still be around 120€ plus the track fees.

What do you think me an Kin Mak should do going to the ring tomorrow then :)

Seriously after TJ's report would definitely be up for an Anglesea trackday, staying in some nice B&B with a decent pub and doing some of the Evo favourite roads.

Mick

Make sure the AA platinum membership is payed   Think they deliver cars back home.

On a serious note best of luck and enjoy the drive
