Ian, how about BBS RC's?

I'll have the set on my 540 up for sale soon. they're RC90's so will fit an E39. I've got spigot rings to fit the E34. They'd need refurbished to be perfect but have 2 almost new tyres on the front and good rears.

Now those are nice, and they suit the E39 aswell. If it were me mate I wouldn't go for 17"s Too much rubber.

Or you could go with a set of M5 throwing stars which I'll have for sale shortly.  A refurbed set will go for £600 but mine have not been refurbed and so the cost would take this into account.
