As a good spoofer, I would merely explain the significance of the reg and that traffic was stopped whereupon the officer would congratulate me on my keen observation skills, start chatting about BMWs and bring me back to the station for a few bevvies. If it was a female officer then Im sure I would been invited back to hers for a while!

SI was a code used by Dublin County Council - see here.
cartell.ie which is linked to the Irish register has it listed (it doesn't list non-Irish registered motors). |

I reckon someone got lucky in plate allocation..... As far as I know, "SI" was never a recognised Irish registration plate code before the "year and country" format was adopted in the Republic. Neither to my knowledge has it come up in the North (though I may be wrong on that one). It is possible, however, that someone picked up the UK registration "CS 1633", and had the plate tweaked....... EDIT: Have run a check via DVLA site, and DVLA is unable to offer any details for either "CSI 633" or "CS 1633". Edited by Horsetan |

Seen this 633 CSi in Dublin city centre today...
(for those not aware, you can't get personalised plates in Ireland unlike in the UK) Edited by kbannon |
