A 318i convertible will seem like a slug compared to your 318is though... remember the convertible is very heavy and the 318iC has only got the 8v motor, not the nice 16v in your 318is.

I have a 323iC and I think it's an excellent car but it needs the bigger motor.
Beating around the bush.

Hi there well as a owner of 99 318i Convertible I would say go for it! Yes you are losing a bit power, but thats not everything. Fantastic for this and plently of other times of the year, just a completly unique driving experience with the top down. If you feel the car is lagging a bit, I chipped it and put an induction kit in it and it works great..

Good luck with the choice!
