If anybody hears anything pass on information to me or Naas Garda station

Today at about 8.35am I was going to Mondello with the Fvee on the transporter. I went past the petrol station without topping up the FVee so I decided to to the "loop" of roads in Prsoperous to bring me back to the petrol station.

I turned left at the junction near the GAA. I had to slow because a car was coming down that road.

At that point I heard and felt the bang. I pulled in at the front of GAA and got out to find the right rear lights and their mounting brackets mangled.

My witness who was waiting to turn right into the same road reckons the car that hit me was a dark maybe black SEAT

That was the hit and as you gather from the title of this post the driver did not stop. So if anyone hears anything pass it on to me or Naas Garda station

Thanks

Gerard

It just amazes me that this happens. The person proberly thought a its only a trailer he wont be botherd..... B45t4rds... the trailer could be worth more that their damm Seat....

I hope the trailer took a big lump out of their car.

Mick

You possibly won't be able to, but if you could lie in wait so to speak next Friday there is a strong chance that you might get them again (presuming they are regular commuters)

That is my only consolation. The level of bent metal on the trailer would hopefully indicate a significant amount of damage on the car

This happend me last year, guy did this with his Megane wing mirror on Abbey St and drove off....

I went straight to Store St. and they told me that there were over 100 '99 Blue Megane Saloons in the area and they wouldn't look at the cameras in the area as they were pointing the wrong way

I had to shell out for a new wing in the end.

Hope Naas are more proactive than Store St. and they track down the idiot Gerard.

Two photos the first showing the left hand undamaged side and the second showing the right hand damaged side. You can really see the level of bent metal.

Got a price of Ł79.60 inc VAT plus carraige from the UK for the metal parts demolished.

I might have to beat out the old part s for the time being.

Thats crap Ger. But I'd be certain the other car came off worse looking at
the photos. You're lucky it's not worse. It'd be nice if the Gardai could get
them but unlikely.

A similar thing happened to me last week. We were parked on the road in
Tallaght outside a shop. I was double parked but had my hazzards on
and could be seen for 300 yards each way. I was collecting five 7 foot tall
glass display cabinets which were all standing up in the trailer about to be
tied down and as you can imagine not the most stable things in the
world. Just getting the straps we hear a CRUNCH. A girl in a Micra with
the L plates up hit the outside wheel arch with her front left wing. We ran
around just as she tried to drive forwards again and we had to shout at
her to stop. She was very flustered. We told her to turn the wheel to the
left and reverse so not do any more damage. So, of course, she turns
RIGHT and reverses back. More crunch. Luckily the cabinets stayed up.
Her front wing was badly scraped and dented. Then she drove off. No real
damage to the trailer though. Wasn't in perfect nick anyway.

It amazes me. If they can see the vehicle that the trailer is attached to, the trailer becomes invisible. You probably don't get as many idiots running into the back of horse boxes
