Posting this for a friend.

A new engine required for an E30 318is coupe.

May consider one from E36 318is.

Preferably in Ireland.

Any help appreciated. Thanks

I think (from memory) someone tried to put an E36 318i engine into an E30 and it didn't fit right due to a difference between the sumps.

You can swap the sumps. This moves the dipstick to the front of the engineand it is a tight fit with the cambelt cover but you can make it work.
