Rust isn't an issue as long as its not dangerouse (bits sticking out that can catch/injure people etc.) and as long as there isn't any damage/holes within 30 cm of seatbelt points etc.
I stand to be corrected tho'
MOT is every year on cars older than 4 years(?)

Basically covered by the statement "its a piece of paper you must have, but serves more use to wipe your botty with than any indication of the cars condition"

Rock salt is uded over here, but not in certain places like cornwall an other places where there is little frost. Also stay away from cars kept by the seaside lol

if they've not been looked after yes, but the newer cars aren't anywhere near as bad as older ones - pre 90's for tin worm anyway

Cornwall is in England... below Wales and after Devon

Salt is used fairly generally IIRC so the issue will be the same wherever, comes down to how the beastie was looked after.

Oxford is close enough to London but ye'd have to hire or borrow a car if you are flying into London....

Saves a trip to Oxford! Looks tidy, but again like the others you showed us the other nite, no mention of service history....

Think your concentrating a little tooo much on this rust thing, yes, have a look around the car for it but it's not the problem that your making it out to be on the whole.
