Hello all,
Has anyone else seen the advert that's been on pistonheads for a couple of days? A modified E30 M3 that the seller wants £25k for! Reading the list of mods I'm sure it's cost a lot to build but the price still struck me as rather ambitious......
What do you lot reckon? Value for money? Regards K |

That's Darryls.... I'd eat my dinner off any part of that car! He has been offered £25K for it on more than one occasion. Think of it as a extremely well sorted track car that's far too good to track! <awaits Uwe's response allong the line the lines off "nothing's to good to track...."> |

what makes you think that? If I had an immaculate M3 with good bodywork in original condition, I would not track it. If I had been offered 25k for that car, it would have changed owner in 30sec. |

I was Joking - I'd like to drive that on a track - perhaps not in the wet though! I spoke to Darryl at length recently about the car and believe me he is agonising over selling it! He was offered that money quite some time ago and at that point definitely didn't want to sell. Now it appears he does, I don't see why he shouldn't test the water at that price - It stands him in at about £42K We all know he'll never get all that back though.... If the right person was looking at the right time he could get it.... And by the way - It has Nitrous!

Like i said it was my opinion that it's worth the money.
If you don't think it's worth that much then thats your opinion. |

Nice looking car. There's only a few people that will pay the 25K asking price. I hope he kept the number of the person that offered to buy it at that.

When is it you turn 17 again?? Ive spent a few quid on mine making it as mint as I saw fit at the time (nowhere near Daryls) and my trackdays are over. I dont want to be damaging my car or damaging the engine. I know most will see thats not what the car was built for but its choice so buying a 25k car and tracking it would be daft when you can buy a 5k car and track it. |

In fairness Ive sen Darryl give it the berries on a several occasions. So its not like he babies it the whole time. He just looks after it with a lot more enthusiasm. It lives in a garage under a cover I believe and is obviously washed everytime he uses it.
When I last spoke to him, he was talking about getting a Caterham style car, which is obviously his plan judging from the PX line. (Darryl www.wscc.co.uk is the owners club, that the guy I work with whose a Westfield SE8 owner uses) Regarding the price, I dont know how many people are looking for a car for that sort of money. And Im sure even he would say its at the top end of the market. I just hope he doesnt get a lot of messers. |

Early car, 195 or less US spec. "Wide open spaces" US gearbox and tall rear axle. A lot of money to pay for an odometer reading that will probably bring it`s own problems through lack of use. |
