1. Id prefer it if wasn't considered as my forum. It belongs to those who use it.
2. The club used ferrariownersclub.co.uk for inspiration.
3. The Irish Region Page used to have a link to the irish website. This has been removed for some reason (are they punishing the Irish region because of my involvement?). It also is using my email address. I do not recollect being asked for it to be displayed on their site.

Apparently the data from this style can be transferred to vB 3.0.6...not sure how, but from what I have read, it can be done.

Just a thought...before they say you are nicking their layout and colours, Killian...

Nooooo. This forum looks just fine. They copied Killian (and the gangs) forum, not the other way round. I say leave it as it is. Let them change theirs. It's clear to see which one is more popular, and older.

I tried to find the Ferrari forum, found a few but not sure I found the official one. Anyway they didn't copy the Ferrari one, they copied THIS one.

I just went for a look on the "official BMWCC forum". How sad. Go and have a look at the Irish section if you fancy a laugh.

Some of you, not all, may remember years back as a member of the cc i started the original m3 register, the m power part of the club started doing big things, and some (not all) of the decision makers in the bmwcc, didnt like it, they tried to take control then.

The M power club grew from this, away from the cc and with support of Bmw and club europa, much to the clubs disgust, and all along the way, the few tried to make life very difficult because things were not being done there way

Ive seen this all before, its there way, or damn you all for not toeing the line and your only allowed to enjoy yourselves if its ok with them

This is the one reason why i havnt been a member for about the last 12 years

Its just great really!!! Their whole plan just keeps back firing!! Remove non members from being able to post in a BMW forum and there has been about 4 posts in the last week!!! I certainly wont be renewing my membership and didnt think the mag was that good.....rather get PBMW subscription for the year and still have enough left for a fish supper.

If they keep making issues for Killian then all it will do is discourage more people from joining/renewing their membership.....I and atleast 4 people I know have left/not joined because of the grief they have caused.

Pathetic

I would write a strongly worded letter to:

BMW GB won't be too bothered - it's nothing to do
with them although I'm sure BMW AG won't be too
impressed with what's been going on.

Has anyone been in touch with BMW about the actions of some individuals in the BMW Car Club causing a lot of animosity amongst BMW owners, a lot of whom are extremely loyal to the brand and do a lot to promote it (ie - KB with the forums)?  We may not buy brand new BMWs, but we do keep their parts departments busy, as well as a lot of us using them for servicing.  If we didn't get parts and servicing, they'd lose a very large portion of their income.

Anyone have the name and address of the head of BMW for Ireland/UK?  A few pointed letters in his mailbox may help rid ourselves of certain troublemakers/snobs.

Really? Do you think it's worth 35 quid a year to read
about how some codgers had a skittles evening in
Donacaster? It's very glossy but there's not a lot in
there that a) you don't already know and b) you can't
read in more detail in a proper BMW mag.

The thing to do would be to contact Club Lotus (one
of Graham Arnold's other car clubs) with regard to
buying the rights to use the BMW Driver's Club
name.
What this current shower of sh1te need is some
good healthy competition - reviving the Driver's Club
would do just that. I personally will never rejoin the
Car Club because of their disgraceful behaviour
over the last couple of months. I know that a lot of CC
bods like Howard (a top bloke) are very disillusioned
with the whole thing. It seems to have become the
Jeff Heywood and Friends club which is very sad.

There has been no requests to pull a post over that kind of issue. So far it was only the copyright/trademark issue.

Apparently it's not just bmw that are getting upset about forums. Many major firms are cracking down on this thing.

On the Renault Trophy forum a guy posted a problem about a sticking throttle and he was asking if it was worth a recall, it got swiftly removed as the mods said forums are ok to exsist as long as the boat was not rocked.  Any idea of forum slating a car manufacturer then it looks like it could be closed down.

Pretty crap if you ask me as our forum has always been pretty good and informative etc.

Alan.

My membrship isn't due for renewal yet, but I will probably keep it. I think the mag is getting much better.

But this whole forum thing is rediculous. Thanks to everyone involved in keeping it running. I haven't registered with the "official" forum as it appears there are only about 4 people who talk to eachother there. Also, why should I move to another forum when I am totally happy with this one?

This is an awesome forum. Its not full of people who state they can do this, do that, get 400BHP out of thier S14 without turbocharging and then not saying how they did it. Its a VERY friendly, amusing, VERY informative and usefull forum. I have also found it to be a great tool for diagnosing problems. If one memeber can't help, then there is sure to be another that can and will.

The worrying thing is what next are these guys going to throw at us next? BMW Roundels being photoshop removed from our pictures? BMW being banned from use as a word?

I was supposed to renew about 3 months ago, never did, and the magazines are still coming through?! I might renew if there's another offer for free tickets to something motorsporty (where it will be raining.....)

I let my club membership lapse about 3 months ago for various reasons. I had a couple of reminder letters, but actually had a phone call yesterday to 'remind me' to renew. Sorry, not going to do that.

Could it be that membership ha dwindled since the break with this board ? When will they realize the true extent of the damage they have done.
