Hi new on this forum Just bought myself a 316i se compact and have discovered cd changer doesnt work checked connected but no joy no power to changer at all fuses etc look good any ideas.... Anyone know if it would be covered by my warranty got 12 months from Renault garage, i bought it from,X Reg but 1999 shape.. Any suggestions appreciated...

This'll be interesting...cd changer in my 318ti has the same/similar problem. Just stopped working one day. Checked all connections and fuses, all fine. Can only guess the changer unit itself is knackered. If anyone has any ideas that don't involve me taking it ti BMW i(my bank balance) would be mighty grateful!

thanks for the reply,the garage i bought the car from advitised with cd changer in so dunno if mine would be covered under warranty as i got 12 months.. think if your is knackered too might be worth replacing a bmw cost a fortune,to do anythink an alpine unit is supposed to be compatible with bmw's,not sure on this one!!!

Take it back to the garage and ask them to sort it out. It will either be the cable or the changer but as you have just bought it then get them to fix it.
