Kev,

Don't worry about feeling unwell it was a long weekend, great fun but tiring. It has taken me a week and a half to recover, must be old age.

Gill was delighted with the birthday surprise.

I saw Les on Wednesday but I am not sure if he will be joining us for the next trip. Richard performed his duties as Les's spy very well and it helped me keep things in check when the engine was tempting me to give it revs.

Still running in is over now and time to get it tuned ready for next trip. I have also found the problem with the DL1, it was the CF card. So next trip no excuses for not capturing all the data, shame they spotted the bullet cam .

See you soon

Cheers

Hi kevin,

It was great to see you and Gill at the ring.

Richard and myself would like to thank you, Steve and Co for your hospitality, hope Gill was not too embarrassed about all of the Pisten Klause singing happy birthday to her.

Sorry about the last evening, was not feeling very well at all, was a little bit embarrassed.

Hope car is running fine, I presume you will be applying "full bananas" very soon.
Not everybody can have a Mechanic on call at the ring: (Richard)

Hope to see you end of Sept.

Kevin (Rory), Richard and the rest of the gang

Sorry, forgot to mention: have you talked to Les about the Ring?

Craig, We will be back at the end of September, 30 Sept thru 4 Oct to be precise. Last long weekend, if you are there it will be good to see you. Alternatively are you going to Silverstone on 25th?

Cheers

Not many Sport Evo owners would take their car out in the wet, let alone around the Ring ! Well done that man
The Ferrari owner would have also been hit for the armco bill too. I hope he was all ok and his insurance covers him...

Well, i have finally done it, why did i wait so long.

No problems with the car, stayed in great B & B approx 15kms away from the ring.

Shame about the rain, but then it did make things more INTERESTING, especially if you drive a Ferrari 360 and decide to put in  the barrier and cause the session to finish early and approx repair bill of £20k to the car.

Even more impressive was the journey, did the ring to Woking in Surrey on one tank of petrol, note to myself must drive FASTER, approx 350 miles.

Time now to earns some more brownie points with the wife to get another weekend pass.

Uwe, you will no doubt be relieved that I will be unable to attend this weekend due to a prior engagement - so you can show off to your hearts content and there will be no-one there to show you up!

p.s. - for those of you who also are not going to watch him make a fool of himself ( ) come instead to Rockingham on the w/e 12th/13th August for SCSA (ASCAR as was), PUTs (Pick-Up-Trucks) and other stuff - look here.........

I am there right now, lap after lap in my front room on Gran Turismo 4 in an effort to learn the circuit a little better prior to my arrival at the driver training on the 13th.

This way I hope not to get lost again and go straight on at Steilstrecke when I ought to turn right!

Howard,

I am surprised you did not attend the driver training event, run by bmw clubs europa, that is very well organised and teaches people to drive the ring correctly and safely on a closed curcuit.
