Hi, anyone have any dealings with these guys below

http://www.e-maps.co.uk/

I have spoken to them yesterday and booked for them to reprogramme the ecu in a couple of weeks, they come to where you live or work, must say the increased torque looks interesting.

Standard bhp is 286bhp with 420 ft torque  after the upgrade they claim revised figures of 305 bhp and 450 ft torque

Will let you know how I get on.

Jeff TT

£199 inc coming to you ?

If thats the case then yes, thats an excelent price.

For obvious reasons i wouldnt give prices in this thread as its about simon at emaps and it wouldnt be fair to jump on his thread other than to say his work will please you.

I admire your honesty chippeduk, that alone would get you my business! It's a shame that people like you are few and far between.

Cheers

i have just spoke to jayson @ chipped uk he is hopefully going to chip and remap mine @ gaydon in between/ or aswell as being on the 5 series stand hopefully !! he says the gains are 24-26hp and about 21 nm of torque so the new figures would be 310-312bhp and 421nm / 310 lbs/ft of torque and more mpg thrown in for good measure

regards

chaz

I've had my540 manual chipped by Jay & I'm more than happy with the useable power I gained, even more power & much more usable now I've fitted a the shorter Diff with the 3.15 ratio & the LSD,it absolutely pops on now in any gear & is great fun coming out of rounabouts surprises alot of these smaller cars such as scoobies who have start frantically changing down to catch me!!

very true i just want to make the most of what i have and if i get a few more mpg it will pay for itself over time .. just realised that 310-312 bhp is almost the same as the 3.6 E34 M5 @ 315 bhp  i wonder how the torque stacks up ? though i dont expect the same performace from my V8 auto "waftmobile" its much more of a cruiser IMO ....

Regards

I think your torque stats will be better than the 3.6 M5 and you would give them aquite a shock

Wow someone who gets an E34 540 chipped be sure to come back and report. I would be seriously interested in this if its worthwhile even though mine is auto.

I'll be interested too - mines a 1995 540 touring manual with only 45k on the replacement alusil engine - I think the prospect of an M5 scarer is just too much to resist
