You might be surprised... owner is getting irritatingly low offers from stealers so a sensible offer might sway him. For that matter, what on earth is it worth? Mint 320 money? Just under A1 328 money? (on the basis that even Hartge mods don't add value)
Anyone got any thoughts?

£3k Tops (looking at it from an old car point of view)
You know what like
You spend loads of cash and time on the car and it`s worth nothing at the end of the day unless someone comes along and want that car

a quick what car search against a 328 sport came up with this
Dealer £3,995
Private £3,245
Part Ex £2,895
Trade £2,695
same search against a 328
Dealer £3,295
Private £2,695
Part Ex £2,395
Trade £2,245
can't get a value for the 320 as they don't seem to exist

looking at 328s for sale and taking into consideration the rarity of this car, if I was selling I'd be looking £4-4.5k no less than 4k
but just my opinion, if I was buying then I'd say 3k

Hartge doesn't have the same cache as Alpina & even they don't make that much more than a standard car. People tend to be wary of specials like these. For the same money the herd would go for something more recognisable like an M3. Speaking of which, they're down to £6k or less now.
Couple of things raise questions.
Starting with a 320??? Why not start with a 325? I'm assuming it's the iron block M50 not the alloy M52. Sounds like a funny place to start having to bore and stroke it.
Only 230bhp from a 328 with a supercharger? Just a 325/525 inlet & a rechip will get near that from a 328 so where's all the power gone?

Should be around the 280 bhp region if running around 6psi. Depends, but like andy say's much higher.
