I can tell you how much it was in 1972.

CSL 7400 BST

CSi  5800 BST

Comparative

E-Type V12 3300 BST

Porshe 911T 3500 BST

In 1969 my 2800 CSA cost 4800 BST plus shipping to SA

and a Ferrari Dino 246 was 300 Pounds cheaper

So as there were no real Product changes I would assume a 10% increase 72-75

Wish Karmann spins in his grave when I look at what the competitors fetch today in comparison. but then I would'nt have been able to afford one.

Regards

Dax

Thanks for the posts,     getting closer.

Does anyone know where this information could be found if BMW themselves don't hold it.

Regards

Boa Tarde ...'BMW the Classic Cars of the 60's and 70's' Lawrence Meredith...ISBN 1-86126-250-7 pub. Crowood Auto Classics.   and 'BMW the Classic Six cylinder Coupes 1968-1975'  Martin Buckley  ISBN 1 -873179-014  GHK publishing   you could also try BMW Group Mobile Tradition Group Archives in Munich  contact Archivist: Kai.Jacobsen@bmw.de but then you'd have to know D Marks to £ circa 1972....tricky...UJB

Thanks for that,

I mailed the Archivist then used Oanda.com (a site where you can do currency converstions for specific dates) to convert to £.

The original price was 36,820 DM which converts to £6,645

regards

K
