Any recommendations?  I can only seem to find Tint Haus at the moment.

From my brother's experience with Pentagon, it's worth the extra few quid to get them to do it, nearest to us is Stirling I think, otherwise give mell a shout, she would point you in the right direction too

Did Mell get hers done at Pentagon?  Is she still hanging around the forum?  A mate of mine had his M3 done at Tint Haus and the only problem he had was with the rear window where the film doesn't sit perfectly over the nobbles.

The guy there said he wouldn't be able to sort it but as a result he will give a discount on the next car he sends along (ie. my car).

Have read some positive reviews about the place on scoobynet.

I know what you mean about the nobbly bits, i think it makes it look poorly done, which im sure it isnt, it just looks like it is, that one of the reasons that i am considering not getting tints myself. Send Imran a pm he has nice tints done.

Gee, give Stu a call at Motorvation 01542 833345, or go onto the Scottish-cruise web site to contact him. Very good service, product and price. He is also in the process of getting a mobile van-man to go to the customer.

I went up at lunch time to see the Tint Haus chap with my mate.  On the nobbles he said that he is waiting for a tool to come up from one of their other sites which rubs the nobbles down.  Once he gets the tool he is going to take the M3 back in to re-do the rear screen.

On my car he said he will do it at the discounted price of £200.  Seems not too bad.

If I can find Mell and Imran's profiles I'll drop them a PM so thanks guys.

I got mine done by a friend who used to work at Tint Haus... think it was 170 for the whole car too!

He is now working for another company in Aberdeen.. cant remember the name, not even sure if its started up yet.

My tints are very well done, no blemishes anywhere but i caught the corner of my window with my jacket zip and it ripped a bit off. I am now getting all the windows done free of charge, with better quality tints (supposedly)from this new place... I'll give him a phone and find out details.... see if he'll do a group discount or something...

Imran

I notice that Autoglass is now doing this (between King St and West North St on the approach to Morrison's supermarket).

I got the windscreen on the M5 replaced there the other day to get rid of my discoloured bonding and made some enquiries.

They quoted me £250 to do the tints but refused to include the driver and passenger windows "because it was against the law"

The guy who did my screen was decent enough and did a good job - I even gave him a tip!

The rest of the staff should have stayed at home.

remember guys that very soon light meters will be a mandatory part of the MOT test,
any tint on the fron door windows that wont allow a light transmission of at least
75% will be an automatic fail, so if you have dark front tints, i suggest buying some
second hand windows for MOT time, i cant say exactly when this is happening,
but an MOT guy i know says that it will be here within the next year or so.

I heard that MOT stations were a long way from this due to the cost of the equipment required.  I guess if they do go down this route our MOT test fees will go up...again!

I may have to re-think this tiniting lark.

nah..go for it. If it does happen its not for ages... you can get your moneys worth out of the tints by then...
