I'm guessing this will be North East region, so I'll move it there.
Best Wishes

Welcome Bren   You have started with a fine example!  An M3 (any) is nothing but a good thing!!!!

Welcome.  Keep your eye on the forum, always loads of meets/shows/drives etc happening!  If you need to know ANYTHING about your car, this is the place to find the answers!  There are no stupid questions.  Stupid answers, yes, but no stupid questions!

There is a trip to the monster truck racing this Sunday in Wetherby, that can't be too far from you.  Check the other thread on this forum.

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavours last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Welcome, Brenny.

You make me feel old (which I probably am by comparison). I bought my first BMW back in March 1979, and have owned one ever since. I bought six 320is in succession, all from new, until I had a midlife crisis and switched to a 2.8 Z3 which I bought new in April 1999. I still have it, and although the BMW is now longer my main car (summer use only) it is greatly cherished, still like brand new, and I will probably keep it ad infinitum.

Hopefully, you will be able to get to the Yorkshire & Humberside get-togethers at Howden on the last Tuesday of every month.

Hi Again, Thakns for your informative posts, I do have a few questions about the car but these can wait until I have settled in. I also am looking forward to a few meets, But as I work Weekends These may be few and far between.

I am 33, no Spring Chicken, but didn't pass my test until 1991 when I turned 17.

Polo's and escorts were my choice of chariot back then, I then moved onto Vauxhalls and have stuck with them ever since but the BMW Convertible is the car I have always wanted.

Thanks Again for the warm welcome,

Regards Brendan

Hi Falkster, Thanks for the Welcome,

Travelling to meets is not a problem but closer is always better as I am just getting to grips with the M3's fuel consumption, Its a lot worse than I expected.

Last week £30 got me 90 miles and this week £30 got me 110 miles, Not fantastic and that is with standard Driving, The speedo is slightly under reading due to the higher walled wheels and tyres.

When the speedo says I am travelling at 70 MPH I am really doing 73 according to my GPS, where as a standard car would be doing about 67 MPH true speed when the needle shows 70. So my average of 100 miles is a little lower than it is really acheiving.

Did any of that make sense,

I go an a little sometimes, Lol,

Regards Bren

Good news and bad news I'm afraid..

.. the good news is that anyone from Wakey has got to be a fine upstanding individual.. welcome aboard!

.. but your fuel consumption 'aint good, even for a 3.2.

Can you give us a more accurate reading by brimming the tank.. use it all up then brim it full again and tell us exactly how many litres went in and how many miles you travelled.

Nick

I have Good News and Bad, The good news is that there may be a problem and so I will do as you say and hopefully we can solve it, The bad news is that it isn't even the 3.2 engine, Its a 3.0.

Regards Bren
