Yes indeed.

The big cat is fantastic, brilliant, but...

Little BM is something else, responsive handling, direct, I feel like "wearing" it. Maybe we've been together for long and we know each other very well

The big cat just came into my life...I guess it's a matter of getting to know him better!

I reckon that since there has been no reply, although many  have read the post, everybody agrees that

you're comparing apples with oranges i think - any big car can distort the impression of speed compared to a small one

the jag was designed to be a comfortable long-distance mile muncher not a country-road hooligan (although i'm sure it will try its best!)

the e36, being smaller, harsher, noisier and less cossetting is more suited to a and b-roads, it makes you feel like you're going fast although the speedometer may say otherwise

The 7 series (E38) is by far more comfy than a mondeo, sorry Jag  .... and if you've got one with stability control not much will escape or catch it on a country road!  and even if you don't

Ah there's nothing like a BMW

she's got a current-model XJ not a mondeo-in-drag X-Type....
