As most of you are aware, the end of month Meet in Perth is quickly approaching , so I thought I would start a thread for all to show their cleaned & polished cars. (no doubt some will be re-doing on arrival, me for instance) I also thought it may be an idea to list the type of consumables used to achieve the finish on the cars, I'll use mine as an example..we may be able to gauge which product/s suits lighter and darker colours of cars Meguiars NXT Car Wash, Meguiars Quick Clay, Turtlewax Colourmagic Plus, Meguiars Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax, Autoglym Glass Polish: |

I can list the products that I use to clean my car: Bucket, sponge, fairy liquid and a blow dry down the motorway. For those of you who have seen my paintwork will understand me not participating in the show 'n' shine. For those who haven't seen it, don't laugh when you do!! My M3 has feelings you know. Alan. |

Here is some snaps I took at the weekend. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v374/silverbeastie/Waxed/m ore325CiSport012.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v374/silverbeastie/Waxed/m ore325CiSport003.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v374/silverbeastie/Waxed/m ore325CiSport007.jpg I used the BMW car shampoo. Very good indeed. But I would like to try the Meguirs NXT when it's finished... I then dried it used chamois leather. I thought it was clean until I used my Meguirs clay bar in conjunction with the detailer spray. Oh my god that thing is amazing!!!! I finished off with a tub of the Meguirs NXT paste wax. I found it much better than the spray on stuff. I also blackened the tyres with some stuff I got from the bodyshop a year ago. not sure what it's called. Trade stuff only though and I got a wee tub of it. Hope you like the results. Daz |

I use a mixture of Meguiars and Autoglym too. Any idea how often you should use the clay bar? I used it for the first time last week. |

I would only use it twice a year. If you polish your car regularly after you clay the paint should be fine. Where abouts in Glasgow are you from? I caught the tail end of a yellow E36 near the fort the other day. Wondered if it was you? |

Speaking of car detailing, did anyone see 5th Gear this week - the guy detailing the Maserati? Maybe of interest is his website Miracle Detail website - you may be able to get some tips/info |

I just live about 5 mins away from the fort, in Baillieston. yeah i seen that guy doing the detailing... I still put him to shame 7000 or somethin for a tub of wax? I put a coat of wax on an old banger on my street and its still goin strong nearly a year on, so id like to see the stuff he uses . Gotta get me P21s before the 30th |
