I reckoned the Hydro Station at Clunie Foss might be quite striking; subject to folk's feelings on a wee blat up the A9. Nice big space by a loch with an old skool power building in the background.

Any thoughts?

Not sure if any of the following suggestions would be suitable?

  1. Perth Racecourse
  2. McDiarmid Park - St Johnstone's ground
  3. There is a park just outside the town centre - South Inch?
  4. Taymouth Castle - where the 7Register had a meet one time?

anyway, isn't it usually the magazine photographers who do a recce beforehand for a suitable place to take pictures?

Ive just been on the phone to the perth council and they suggested south inch as well, they seemed to reckon on a sunday there would be space for 40-50 cars easy. also suggested broxburn park and ride as it will be empty on a sunday.

Football ground has a car boot running from 8.30-3.30

Good call but it's a fair hike to get to Clunie from Perth and I wouldn't want to be coming the other way on that road if we were all blatting along.  Not sure if there's sufficient space for all the cars which could be turning up either...?

A bit of funny one here...thought I was phoning Scone/Perth Airport, gave my spiel on how it was going to be big turnout, magazine coverage etc. I was told to expect a call form someone later on the day...lo and behold I did and it was fine. Heres the 'funny' bit, what actually happened was a simple mistake on my part..called Fife Airport instead of Perth Airport. So realising this I had to apologise to the woman on the line and stated my mistake.

The window opportunity unfortunately would've been too late as they fly till 6.

But heh...not a bad result nevertheless, chance of a spectacular photoshoot IMO.

Some must be near enough Perth to have a jolly down this weekend and see whats what

That park is huge and if the council allow us to go there it would be ideal (No Donuts tho)

As for driving to another location i would be well up for that
