Just noticed that Eurocarparts sell Bilstein shocks for the E24 for less than 40 pounds each. What's the catch? 680 pounds shipping or something?!?

Another question - I want to fit Bilstein HDs to my Motorsport which originally had SPs I believe. Can I just order shocks for a standard 635 and they will fit?
Cheers

Theres no catch from ECP - I ordered bilstein front shocks for the E34 and they cost me £33+vat each, and as I ordered them online the delivery was free but I think the free delivery is no longer on offer. They arrived in 2 days. Also don't want to appear thick but what is the difference betwee HDs and SPs?

Just logical guessing......

Mine were bilstein sports shocks and was surprised by how cheap they were - then I looked at the rear shocks - £119+vat each. They will come later.

Thanks Dave

Yes, Heavy Duty were fitted to standard 6 series and Sport were fitted to M and Motorsports.

I'll order mine right now then and hope they will fit my Motorsport...

I think you will find that they are standard replacement shocks made by bilsteins. In other words they are valved to the boge levels, but much better quality and longer lasting. When i spoke with them i gave them the part numbers of the M635, M5 and M535 shocks and they were much more exspensive at around £140 per shock. Thus i ordered mine from BMW for less that £100 each.

What does that mean?

Yeah I'm not going to do that. When I order from BMW they add 200 pounds to each item.

When I got the car I checked what a set of shocks would be and the list price is 1400 pounds

3 months ago i ordered and paid £396 inc vat for 4 Bilstein M635csi Sport dampers and dustboots and a few other bits and pieces. The £1400 is the standard BMW price for 4 Shocks and springs fitted at RRP prices. The price from BMW is not that bad especially if you use your 10% club discount.

Hi, hope I don't sound stupid here...

The fronts are inserts, are these compatible will all the factory supplied dampers? I did search again my exact model and year.

The reason I ask, with Porsches you need to get the right insert for the make of damper otherwise it will not fit and different cars came with different makes of dampers.

The rears are the full damper - yes?

What fuel crisis?
