Some pics from the remap this morning.  Unfortunately, I accidentally overwrote the hi-res pics.  Oops!

Hard at work!!!

That coin is sitting on it's side with the engine running!

Thanks lads it was a great weekend and it was a pleasure to work on such well maintained cars.

The best part for me the whole weekend was the expression on peoples faces after the test drive

Was that heading into Jurys carpark, Bear? More than likely is mine you saw, then - I park there every day (and I was probably late for work!!!)

Massive improvement in driveability - better throttle response, more power and 4mpg better consumption so far. Was surprised more people didn't take advantage of he offer.

Hi guys just looked up the website myself to find out what that actually ment. If i put a coin like that on my car i'd have a hard time trying to actually find the damn thing lol. When is the next remapping event, how much and would it make much difference to my 99 318is coupe?

Fey,  read your post with great interest. I put up a post a couple of days ago  http://www.bmwcarclubforum.co.uk/forum_posts.asp?TID=28070&a mp;PN=1  seeking some advice as I am trying to decide what is my best option, chip tune or remap? Which did you go for and why if you don't mind me asking? Any info greatly appreciated.  Steve.

Steven - I don't know much about the technical ins and outs or the differences between them, but here's my tuppence worth.

I got a quote of €800 to chip the car in Galway, offering me the same gains as the remap.  However, they were going to use a piggyback system onto the ECU, which would be immediatly visible.

The remap cost normally around €350, I think, but because there were so many of us doing it, it cost €250 each.  Same gains as the chip, with a lowering of fuel consumption.  Also, it came with a gaurantee that if a dealer overwrote the remap, then they'd redo it again for free.  Hadn't seen much feedback for Martin (AutoRemap) at that point, but Jaysons (ChippedUK) reputation preceeded him as being top notch.

I'd recommend using either of them (Martin or Jayson) to anyone here who's contemplating a remap.

Does that answer the question?

We have no plans for another one at the moment, as so many of the lads on our site got it done at the weekend.

The regular price is €350, you should see about 10-15bhp afaik from your 318is.

Thanks for that, I have been unsure whether to have a replacement chip or a remap.Sounds like a remap is probably the better route. I will contact Jayson and get his advice also.As you say his reputation is excellent so I have no issue with dealing with him I just want a feel of what other people see as the best option. He's about an hour and a half drive from me so it will be worth the trip. Thanks again for the reply. Steve.

I would gladly come back over if martin or kdevitt aranged another one as it was superbly organised with rolling cars coming through the day in slots making it sooooo much easier.

Its a shame you guys are not local to me as it would of been great to get them on the rolling road we have to check the power gains.

Anyway, i think this is being organised at the moment in ireland ?

Richie, I thought your car was already producing 196bhp?

I want to get it done as soon as I get home (2nd half of April) but want to get it on the rollers first though to see what the gains are.

I'm sure there'd be a couple of people who missed the last one who'd get it done at the same time?
