Alternator alignment e30 M3

   Stupid questions maybe, after having the alternator bushings replaced I found that the V-belt is not in line with the crankshaf pulley. The belt is on the outside part of the pulley (away from engine) where it was before. My car is without A/C. If the belt would be on the middle part of the pulley it would be aligned but the belt seems too short....
Anybody any idea what is going wrong...

	Mmm, some things are so easy...mine has BMW written on it so I assumed it would be okay. Maybe I should just get a new one..But should it be on the middle part of the crankshaft pulley?

	There are 2 types of alternator belt, I found this out recently when I tried fitting the supplied belt, and it would'nt fit, ordered the alternate part number, and it was fine. One is 10x 865mm, and the other 9.5x 875. Edited by Simon325i sport
