Well after it seems an age chasing down a 'vauge
steering' issue, and having found worn control arms
with broken ball joint races, worn out track control
arms all of which were replaced, and still this vauge
feeling was still there. Changed out the rack
yesterday with another one, (mine wasn't leaking or
anything and i have a receipt in the files for it being
re-conditioned) but it seemed as it was the only
thing left it must be it. Anyway, what a difference
totally transformed the way the car drives. Just need
to get the tracking double checked. This was a 2nd
hand rack, so its probibly not a 100% either but i'm
happy.

F'in nightmare to change though !!!!

Were you not tempted to fit a newer and quicker Z3/E36 rack ?

Well done Dave! Was there any obvious play in the old rack though?

Brian, yes but could I find one..... Not for love nor
money.

Paul, there was nothing really that noticable with
both of them on the floor, but it was obvious when
installed even without the wheels on, and even
more so once all back on the ground and the engine
running.

Another benefit seemed to be a much better self
centering of the steering wheel, something else I
had a issue with a while ago.
