Having finally figured out that the wires were OFF the ABS warning light on the dash it it apparent they were removed to hid a fault

Basically with the ignition on I get all the usual warning lights, I start the car and they all go out (including the ABS light) but then about 10-20 seconds later (yet to actually count it properly) the ABS light comes back on and remains on....

Anyone have any suggestions on that... I know it's a bit vague but I've never had to do any work on ABS systems before!!?!

i'd start by looking at the sensors, these will throw an error if they are faulty, i don;t know how you check them though.

Does the ABS work,I mean have you tried an emergency stop from say 60 on a deserted road and attempted to lock the fronts up? Would tell you if the system is working or not.

As I said in a previous post,sneaky trick to get through MOT with dodgy abs.A few tips. Clean the abs rings,they get really clogged up with crud.Check all road wheel sensors using multi meter.Don`t know what readings you should get but hopefully one might show itself by being miles away from the others.Relays easilly substituted for known workers.If all the above fails take it to the experts at Bexley,hope this helps.                      Cheers Jon

The first thing to do is check the resistances of each sensor. If there's a reading which is the "odd one out" then it's pretty certain that it's faulty. You dont need any base figures to go from as they should allread approximately the same.
If they are all ok, check the abs rings. Give them a good clean up and check for corrosion. If they have corroded badly then you will need to replace the hub.

Just repeated everything that the other Jon said!! lol
