Guys,

Anyone know how to get the front door handle and lock assembly out as I had finally managed to get the door panel off and it turns out that the housing bracket that holds a rod from the latch assembly had broken. Have ordered a repair kit from BMW which will be here tomorrow and cannot find any decent info on how to get the handle off. Do have a haynes manual but is as much use as t*ts on a fish. Any gelp would be greatly appreciated.

Paul

I did have a look at that site, albeit very briefly and must have missed it. Will keep it in mind as I can only get on the net when the local library is open. Need to get back on the phone and will then get my computer net ready

Go to my website and then the link to Johan and Sean's page. Under "body" there are detailed pics about broken doorlocl brackets, how to repair the microswitch etc. It is from the E32, but basically the same on the E34.
