Hi Well it is time to thank myself for all my hard work this year buy spending money on my car! I have a 96 E36 Evo saloon and want to perk her up a bit, my current plan is the Dave F induction kit, Miltek race cat & system, and a Thorney ECU re-map. now my question is can anyone suggest anything better or any personal experiences with any of the above would also be really helpful, I would love a Gruppe M exhaust system but I think they are a little expensive. many thanks for any help and advice. |

hey zero ive got a '36 evo convert and was thinking about a few tweeks aswell. ive looked at the dave f kit and it seems to be quite well respected by those who have one. and not too dear either. i wanna get remapped aswell. quick question tho... is it essential to upgrade the xhaust and cats if doing this... or will the oe xhaust be ok?. im not after massive power gains and on a bit of a budget. the remap is mainly to get rid of the flatspot and the induction kit , well, cos im feelin a bit naughty!! love the sound of it too... |

Hi Mikee I can only repeat what a friend told me, he advised that what was the point of spending £££'s on an exhaust system if you don't replace the crappy restrictive standard CAT as this will hurt any power gains made by the exhaust, the Miltek 100 cell race cat is fairly cost effective but if what you want is volume then a decent back box should do the job for allot less than an entire system. there are clearly people here who know far more about this than me so any help from them would be great. thanks. |

The mods you list should really work very well. Make sure the remap is not generic and the results of them will be superb. |
