    Posted: 11-December-2005 at 07:52
Hi guys,

I was wondering If there are any West of scotland meets going on in the next month or two?

I Fancied having one so I could meet fellow BMW owners and pick their brains if required

somewhere fairly central would be ideal, like the Showcase cinema (M8) or even up Loch Lomond way?

anyhoo, all ideas and suggestions welcome

I'm thinking a sunday would be the best day, so that's either the

15th

22nd or

29th of january, or maybe the first couple of weeks in feb?

320Touring welcome to the forum.

The Scottish Region committee are currently organizing the programme of events for 2006 and once available, these will be posted on bmwccscotland website. Notification of events will also be posted on here near to the time of the event.

There is a meeting pencilled in for early in the year at the Brewers Fayre, Newhouse, where we have been a number of times before.

Not trying to orginize this one,but just a suggestion

Why not Depart Luss around 10.30am

Take the A82 up onto the A83 Heading for Arrochar and up the Rest-and-be-Thankful

Although Start of Feb maybe not ideal if loads of Snow

another suggestion: if wife's or girlfreind's/parteners are in tow then we could meet at Balloch's "Loch Lomond Shore's" plenty parking (to many parking spaces!) and a few shop's (Jenner's..etc) for the ladies to have a looksy round while us bloke's have a good ole natter bout motor's? then head of along the A82 from there maybe stopping in at Luss for a bite (snack or picnic?) Arrochar's "Pit Stop Diner" aint what it use to be (i met my wife in their 17+ yrs ago  she use to work in it)but it does have pub-grub place's and a few decent parking areas the Rest-and-be-Thankful is the first part of the road to be closed if it start's snowing, which Pete has pointed out....Feb might not be best time for that part of Loch Lomond? i'd say more in to spring (easter onward's?) a bit more day light to take in the veiw's?

or have a drive round to Crainlaroch (anyone from the east side could go on home from there)  and then we could either turn and head back the way we got their or drive through the trossacs (plenty stop off point's) toward's the Stirling straight's? (a nice plesant round the Loch drive/tour) or with enough time and planning make a night of it with a stop over?

Pete323 and ian523 (too many 23's out there)

Both Ideas are great, and the routes you've suggested i'm very tempted by!only thing is, thinking that it'll literally be 6 weeks after christmas, we may want to scale things back a bit, to save on fuel costs?

my wee m20 will do 170miles to £20, so i'd be up for a long haul (possibly out the a85???)

think that Loch Lomond shores would be a good start point as its easily accessible, then on upto Luss/Tarbet for elevenses

followed by a run up to Inverardran, then take the a85 to Lochearnhead, and roll on back to glasgow via Port of Menteith and Milngavie?

Maybe get lunch either at Inverarden or Port of Menteith?
