i would say you would have more power than shown as fourth gear uses less cogs and shafts than any other gear so the transmission losses would be less.

So in effect this lowers or increases the overall power measured ? Generaly speaking of course ?

tried running mine up in third as fourth is so long but it just span the wheels straight into the limiter.that was without gas thank god.

to measure power the engine has to be in the same rpm as the gearbox (drivetrain) which is 1:1 and this only happens in 4th gear

he did the runs in the wrong gear mate.

your car needs to be done in 4th as this is the 1:1 drive.

Dissregard that LOL, 147 ft/lbs + 24.7% = 183.309 ft/;bs of torque, so yer I see your points.

definately wrong labels on the graph!  ???

I added the BHP and Torque labels if thats what you mean ?

If your refering to the torque, well if its NM it works out 130 ish ft/lbs of torque, and if its already ft/lbs on the graph its still down by some 40ft/lbs ??? Thats the biggest no brainer for me anyways.

Run was done in 3rd gear Jayson.

Well its still fitted atm, did over a 100miles yesterday runnin around, see what gives when I take it back for the next RR session.

Have you any ideas where I could be losing the Torque Jayson ~?  Im a long way off the std even without the BBTB and K+N etc....even further away with those fitted !

Just FYI, I have new Lambda, new MAF, both brand new genuine Bosche parts............cost a fortune lol.....

Looking at getting the fuel filter replaced and fuel pressure regulator checked before I got back with these manifolds on etc.

this isnt enough with the throttle body though.

in reality 200-400 miles is needed for the carbon to build a seal ring round the joint to the manifold from the throttle body so the air flows smoothly.

it is not common for cars fitted with a bored throttle body to actually lose power just after being done.

but give it time and it will reap rewards i guarantee you.

No worries Jayson, its going back next week for more runs after we have fitted the manifolds etc this weekend. I reset the ECU and gave it the 10min burn in time btw......

in this case the results wont be worth much as you never gave the ecu even a tenth of the time it needed to adapt to the extra flow of the throttle body.

You need at least 50 miles for the ecu to adapt to the extra air intake.

are you sure that's NM?

it has got to be lb/ft. You should have 181lb/ft as standard.

To me the car feels a little flat below the 4500 mark with the BBTB and K+N fitted, and doesnt exactly feel like it pulls any harder afterwards either to be honest, which is why I wanted these power runs. When you look at the graphs without the BBTB and K+N you can easily see although it doesnt peak so high on BHP the torque is better low down, the curve is much more consistant and it doesnt drop off so quickly, in effect and IMHO making the car better for torque and power throughout the whole rev range.

btw, we only did the one run with the std filter back in, he only charged me for 2 of the 7 runs we did in total !
