I have had my gearbox so its full steam ahead to get the car finished now , I went for a 6 speed sequential from a dutch company called Drenth that has a good name for itself in rallying and racing circles , the quality is very good ,

It all fits straight in , the standard bellhousing , prop and gearbox mount all fit , I just have to cut a hole in the side of the tunnel as the reverse sensor is hitting it , but I need a hole for the wires and reverse gear lock to come through , its about the same gear ratio's as the original Prodrive 6 speed box , I'm also going for a paddle gear change on the steering wheel as per WRC cars

Here is the engine bay looking a bit more business like

Have entered a rally in Rockingham race circuit on the 10th and 11th of December , cant wait

You should put that in a museum when it's finished, it's awesome, well done Ian

First event is Rockingham , 10th / 11th December ,

fabricated and welded up the gear linkage system , the part you see with the gear lever on slides up and down those 4 bars so you can line it up with the hole in the tunnel , you weld it up and cut off the excess bars then , I sprayed it then , photo's a bit dark sorry , it was getting late !

Looking at the new thrust bearing I had to fit the standard clutch arm , it didn't look that strong so I got an AP hydraulic one , I had to make an adapter to bring it away from the back of the bellhousing so it reaches the clutch

I had to bolt it in from behind with counter sink cap heads so it was all flush fitting and didnt interfere with the gearbox

then make up a block to bolt onto the side of the bellhousing to pipe up to and fit a bleed nippple to bleed it

The clutch I have is a twin plate AP job , this should withstand the hiding its going to get :D

You can see that I have machined down the standard flywheel quite a bit , and modified it to take the AP clutch

The gearbox was fitted in last night , so will take more pics later today with the stick in place , it feels awesome sitting in the seat playing with the stick making silly engine noises , I need to get out more
