Very nice indeed......it's next on my list but I think it'll be a good 18-24 months away yet.

Are they going to run it on demo first or are you just having to leaving it with them on display for a while?

Well, if they depreciate like the 'old' M5, they'll be a bargain in 4-5 years time.

Coasting, it's not mine. I imagine that it will sit there for a few days before it goes off to a (lucky) home.

They'll be a bargain to buy once the depreciation has sunk it's teeth in, as will the M5 V10. The problem will be when they age out of warranty. Who will want to buy a V10 rocket with spaceage computer power when a semi major fault cost the earth! That will make them even cheaper! HOORAY!

(Sorry if this is in bold, I couldn't turn it off!?)

You're right, once they get to 4-5 years old I certainly wouldn't be looking to buy one....because of the potential bills an owner could end up with.  They'd be mammoth if anything major was to break.

Independent specialists will struggle to take the trade in servicing too - because the equipment needed to service the M5/6 is so specialist and very expensive indeed.  It's not like servicing an E46 M3, or a CSL...the 5 and 6 M models have a very different computing requirement.

The M5 does nothing for me at all, but the M6 is a car I'd definately be in the market for.

I hate it.

Personally I quite like the new "flame surface" styling. But I think this is just not a looker. I would much rather have the current M5. But tbh Id rather have a E46 CSL over all of them.

I can think of better 2+2 cars to spend £70K on!
Rich.

It's a bit bland for the price tag.

....and the M6 is £80,000....or £87,000 with Bluetooth and the perforated Merino leather.

Dull. I'd spend the money ( not that I have it ) on the baby Aston Martin V8.

I would have thought that too, but there aren't any new performance big 2+2's except the 997 Cs, Jag XKR or Maserati Coupe.
The Aston is a 2 seater as are the GT3 and GT3 RS, fast AMG Mercs are too expensive.

However, there are definately better new (and old) cars to spend £70-£80K on.
