Topic: opinions & advice please Posted: 23-September-2005 at 06:20 |
Hi,
I am thinking of buying these for my E34.
At present I have standard bbs alloys & wonder what you all think ?
Also I believe these are off an E39 & wonder if anyone can advise on any mods required for fitment ?
Thanks in advance.

E34 & E39 alloys dont directly swap. I got E34 alloys for my E39
and had to get the centre hub bored as the E39 is larger than the E34.
You might be able to get adaptors though.
Personally though I don't think they suit the E34 - Im not mad keen on them anyway - much more out there

I would agree with Killian in that I don't think they look good on the E39. It would probably be much easier to get some nicer E34 alloys.

I like them on the E39 ( just to be awkward), but I think they look really out of place on other models.
I've seen them fitted to E28 & E34 models, and just though yuk.

I agree with the above, they look good on the E39, and look weird on the E34! - Looks like it's trying to be something it isn't (if you know what I mean!)

Hi Paul
I have a set of the same Style 33 wheels on my E34, personally I would prefer a nice set of throwing stars or M parallels but I had metric wheels, tyres which were bordering illegal and not much in the way of a budget to replace them so I bought a set of them off a guy on Ebay for £160 purely because they had a nearly new set of Michellins on them and I wouldn't need to buy tyres for a while.
After getting a set of spigot rings from the local alloy wheel shop and getting them balanced on the inside (no ugly weights on the outside any more), they don't look too bad imho, here's a picture so you can make up your mind before buying a set.

thanks for the advice & help guys but have decided I either want a
set of Alpina or Schnitzer alloys if a set comes up at the right price.
cheers
