My ICV gave up the ghost at Gaydon and has fried a transistor in the ECU - anyone recommend someone to repair it ?  Car still runs but obviously, the idle control circuit is not functioning.

Serached on S14 - seemingly a common fault - needs 2 new transistors and a new ICV

Thanks

I've used Hartlake a couple of times - 01474 326626. (advert p75 of BMWCC Mag Aug/Sept)

Last time was a couple of years ago, but then i shipped my ECU to them, they refurbished it, shipped it back, and charged me £60!

It's a very easy repair if you are ok with with the soldering iron, transisters cost about 50 pence each.

Just ordered 10 of the buggers - 67p each so i've got some in stock.  Was just worried that it may have damaged the board as it's blown in a fairly major way.....opened the glovebox and could smell it before i pulled the ECU.  The car still runs right enough......Any idea on the cost of a new ICV ?
