Topic: No wonder they make so much money.... Posted: 09-August-2005 at 12:00 |
I bought a new set of mats for the car today.....
Fawdingtons Newcastle. 1x set of 4 mats. Grey.
How much do you reckon? £50? £60? £70?
No. £90!! £90!?!?!?!?!? They are carpet! Not lined with gold!
No wonder BMW make so much profit!!!!!! If mine weren't so tatty, I would have told them to stick them where the sun don't shine!
It's a good job I didn't ask them to fit them as well!!!!!!!

My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with a girl who saw Ferris pass-out at 31 Flavours last night. I guess it's pretty serious.

Amongst the 'options' for the 6 were mats....at £105.
Needless to say, I made sure they were thrown in before sealing the deal!

Tim
I learned that the hard way on the 5 series for a set of mats, this time for the 3 a nice set on a buy-it now e-bay listing from Motorforce delivered to the door for the princely sum of GBP 50.50 and the quality is very very good
Hard to tell the difference between BMW and Motorforce's (someone somewhere has a nice side line probably at the original makers)
30.00 quids better in anyone's pocket these days

The BMW one's don't have BMW written on them either.....not for new cars anyway, they dropped the lettering a while back.

I got a new set of BMW mats for mine of ebay for £35. A lot better than the £80 that the dealer wanted.

Talking about BMW not giving anything away, and being ripped off and all that, my mate bought a BMW 1 series when they first came out and they wouldn't even throw in a key ring to put the new style ignition fob on!! They wanted the £5 going rate, regardless of him paying £18,000 cash, now that is stingy!!!

So motorforce on eBay is the way forward. Thank you all. I should have asked the question before I stumped up the money though. However, I am geeting a full valet on the car today. Carpets cleaned, engine steam clean, etc. etc. All in preperation for Gaydon. And how much is this costing me? NOTHING!!! Now that's the sort of price we can all live with!
Which dealer do you think is doing this? That's right, a Vauxhall dealer!!! Although, it is cheating as it belongs to my father in law who is still trying to get me out of the Beemer and into a Vauxhall! Still, free is free!

Motorforce are in South Shields if you fancy the drive down and see what they've got.If memory serves they advertise in the club mag too.
BTW tell you Father in law you'll buy a Vauxhall when you loose your marbles

The only vauxhall I would consider is the Monaro. They had one at croft when the touring cars were there and it sounded amazing even when just plodding round the track. TBH it was tailing a new M5 and you couldn't here the BM for the deep chested rumble of the 6 litre V8. The first Vauxhall I have ever truely desired.

Yes, i'm waiting to have a go in one of those! The VXR version is only £37k new!!!!! The VX220 is the only other Vauxhall, but you would still need a BMW for daily use!

You do know Vauxhall have canned both models don't you? So if you want one be quick.Personally if I was in the lucky position of buying a Monaro I would be asking them to leave the Holden badges on it

The VX220 will make a great second hand buy for a 'toy', but for the money.... Monaro - M3(used) - Monaro - M3(used) - Monaro - M3 (used).... I think i know which way I would go.......

When did they do that?
That's a shame since the Monaro is the best car they have ever made.
The badges wouldn't bother me. Who cares what other people think. Performance is everything, image is nothing

They told you on Topgear just after they showed you the test of the 6 litre VXR.Reason why it's sooooo good is because Vauxhall had nothing to do with it.Built by Holden and imported here.Pretty much sure all Vauxhall do is put badges on it.Could still buy one through personal import.

I've got a set of Motorforce mats in the E30 and they are great. The fit and quality are exceptional.
I've got a set of Momo mats in the E36. They are dire.
