Well, as a few of my fellow North-Easterners know I have been looking to change from the M3 Cab for a good month or so now.

You name it, I've looked at it.

Noble's, TVR's, Porsche's, Audi's, BMW's, everything.

After 2 full days (almost) of negotiating...I have done a deal.

I can still 'officially' come to the meets too!  Because I have bought another Beemer.

So, I pick this up in the next 10 days or so.  A big change from the M3, but oh what a noise and the power delivery is sooooo smooth and full of torque...truly a pleasure to drive - and too easy to drive very fast indeed!

Here are photo's of the ACTUAL car I've bought.  I didn't intending buying brand new when I started out on this journey, but what the hell, it'll only sit in the bank for my wife to fritter away!

BMW 645Ci Convertible

It has more toys than Hamleys at Christmas time with lots of totally unnecessary options (but hey, they might come in handy once in a lifetime!) and the noise of the 4.4 litre V8 is lurrrrveerrrly.

See you all at a meet in the near future hopefully!

..and having read the brochure this morning I have just discovered that the hood operate whilst the car is moving at up to 20mph!

Wayhey!  I loved that feature on the 997 911 C2 but didn't realise the 6-series did it too.

It has always been a flaw, IMO, on the M3 Cab, so I'm delighted to have discovered that this morning!

Congratulations Chris, nice colour....is it Sterling Grey?

Regarding the hood, the Z4 does the same, it is usefull when in the town or at traffic lights etc. Saves having to find somewhere to pull over and drop the hood.

Nice choice, I much prefer the current 6 to the 5 and with the roof down they do look really nice. As others have said that V8 makes such a loooverly sound.

Here are a few more pics I took in normal daylight today (that being grey skies and the fact it was persistantly raining) when I went to take my reg.no. docs for the plate transfer.

I went out for a good 20 minute blast in it too - and boy am I one very happy person!  I think I'm going to have to drive everywhere with the rear slot window down all of the time...just to hear the growl of the exhausts!

Sorry for any over excitement!
