If i was you i would do the caliper black, with a silver M and the tri colour ///. Now that would look sweet. Red might look a wee bit chav on a nice car....

I agree - just do them in black - much more subtle.
The only calipers that look right in red are the AP Racing or Brembo mammoth's - anything else that is standard and painted red tends to detract from the overall look of the car (purely my opinion).

Best finish IMHO, for dark alloys, is the silver/gold iridium finish which looks OEM.. and looks the doggies through anthracite alloys.. I have better pics of the callipers with those alloys at home - so will try to dig them out 4 u.

Have you though about wire brushing the M logo until it shines.. protect the shine with varnish and then paint the caliper in the colour of your choice.. Halfords sell the anti rattle springs quite cheaply so you can always keep those looking nice as well.

That sounds like an idea - biggest problem is that the indentation of the logo is very shallow.
anti-rattle springs a pain in the **** and can cause pad knock in some 'load' cases. But I'm guessing they're ok in our cars. You need very tight disc clearance to get away wihtout the springs.
