 Hi Kilian

How about an E30 Register Forum I seem to have to go from one section to another trying to find the E30 bits in the hope that I can help. This would be a lot easer for me and the guys.

Ron Parish E30 Register Chairman.

PS I think the forum is a great idea it helped a lot in adds for BMW Sunday.

cheers

What are peoples opinions on this?
Does the e30 require a forum on its own? If so, would this include technical posts, or what?

The only problem is that it's yet another forum to go searching through for that one nugget of info you know must be out there.

The E30 boys & girls seem to be the most active posters and also seem to be up to more with their cars, so are often a good source of  information that isn't restricted to just the E30's

At the end of the day the are technical forums for each of the series types along with the regional spots........ with the exception of BHP & breaking ability sometimes there can be too much of a good thing??

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.

Is there a way of reading all the topics from the last week or so.. without visiting each forum?

... Maybe the E30 section could use the E30 technical forum and just re-name it... then it could host the non-technical stuff as well.

there is no e30 technical forum at present.

with regard to viewing topics from last week or so - not at the moment - there may be a upgrade of the forum software in the near future which I think can do that

I personally agree with Ron and think it would be a positive idea to have an E30 forum/section given the number of E30 owners out there. I too find that you have to duck and dive sometimes to find the right section. Please do not misinterpret my comments, the club forum site is excellent.

Ron, how is your german??? www.e30.de

Well guys what do you think should there be a separate E30 forum? I thought there would have been a lot more posts on this. Should we have a vote?

Im all for an E30 Forum / Classified / Tech Q+A. With so many E30 owners out there, it just has to happen....end of.

(Oh by the way my Hartge H26 is up for sale. Anyone interested mail me on geoff.clement@whsmithnet.co.uk)

Yeah i'm good with that, only really know E30's inside out not E36's and the like so could be a good way for us to help each other out.

Plus if Ron gets some more people onboard for the E30 register perhaps the E30 part of the club forum could be mentioned on letters sent out etc.  (sorry Ron still haven't joined, will do soon i promise!!!)

No. I think the 3 series forum suffices. E21/30/E36 issues are often common anyway. Another forum will just add complexity.

There are too few people active here still - even fewer are members of the club.

Looking at the 3 series posts, the E30 comes up perhaps 30-40% of the time so there is still not enough questions to make another forum worthwhile. This should be considered only when the existing forum has become unsatisfactory by virtue of having to many E30 questions.

I also agree with Derek's comments of too many forums - I also visit forum's outside of this and I do not want to go to another. The E30 is too generic compared to a M Power forum, etc.

There never was an e30 forum nor was it promised. If there was it would be purely for the E30 register to discuss events etc, similar to the various regions.

If people post technical or other off topic questions the moderators will just move them to the 3 series tech board.

What else would this be for in your mind?
